The cup of the Goblet is fashioned from cracked stone which rests upon the shoulders of a skeleton that forms the stem. He kneels on hard ground, his knees digging into the floor due to the weight of the stony cup. Around the goblet there is a Latin script that reads "bibamus morieundum est","verita vos liberabit" and "deficit omne quod nasciture", which translate to "we drink to die", "the truth will set you free" and "all that is born will die".

Cast in high-quality resin before being painstakingly hand-painted, this piece brings a new side to 'In wine there is truth'.
